We provides an overview of the funding programs available in Ontario for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and developmental differences. From the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) to Passport and community grants, we’ve gathered key information to help families understand their options and connect with the resources you need.
Ontario Autism Program (OAP)
Who’s Eligible: Children/youth under 18 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Ontario residents
What It Covers: Core clinical services (ABA, SLP, OT, mental health), caregiver training, materials.
Special Services at Home (SSAH)
Who’s Eligible: Children/youth with a developmental or physical disability (under 18).
What It Covers: Personal development & growth (respite, skill building, community programs).
Passport Program
Who’s Eligible: Adults 18+ with a developmental disability (confirmed by DSO).
What It Covers: Community participation, life skills, respite, employment supports.
Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP)
Who’s Eligible: Adults 18+ with significant financial need and disability.
What It Covers: Income support, health benefits, and Employment Supports (job coaching, training, adaptive equipment).
Community Respite Funding
Who’s Eligible: Children, youth, and adults with developmental or physical disabilities.
What It Covers: Respite workers, community activities, short breaks for caregivers.
Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities (ACSD)
Who’s Eligible: Families with children under 18 with severe disabilities & financial need.
What It Covers: Monthly financial assistance for disability-related costs.
